If you love spicy food and generous portions, you have to check out Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine at Sengkang Grand Mall!

As soon as you enter, you'll be greeted by friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is bright and spacious, with comfortable seats and high chairs for babies. You can also enjoy some free snacks and ice cream while you wait for your table or after your meal. How awesome is that?

The menu offers a variety of dishes from Hunan province, which is known for its bold and fiery flavors. The food is authentic and delicious, but also very oily, so be prepared to drink lots of water or tea. The portions are quite big, so it's best to come with a group of friends or family and share. 

This is what we ordered for 4 pax and we managed to finish without wastage:

- Fried Rice with Chopped Bacon

- Fish in Spicy Hotpot

- Century egg

- Hand ripped sour taste cabbage

- Hunan Style Fried Pork

At first we didn't order white rice but the dishes go very well with it otherwise it might be a bit too salty.

They are all mouth-watering and satisfying. Not all the dishes were spicy, so you can still enjoy your meal here even if you are not a mala fan!

You can also top up your member account with credits and get bonus credits, minimum top up $300 (you get bonus $50). This is a great deal if you plan to come back often, which I'm sure you will!

Total damage for this meal: ~$110

Overall, I had a wonderful time at Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine and I can't wait to go back again. If you're looking for a place to spice up your life, this is it!

UPDATE! Tried 3 new dishes in August 2023:

Bamboo shoot stir-fried with pork bacon - the bacon flavour was very strong and very oily. It's rich and indulgent, a treat if you enjoy bacon dishes.

Fried vermicelli - good crusty wok hei, with some salted egg as garnishing. Not bad!

Stir-fried cauliflower - Okay, nothing exceptional
